Jiang Guoping: Vice President, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC of NJUPT, Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor
Professor Jiang Guoping was born in Yangzhong, Jiangsu Province on Aug 18th, 1966. He is of Han ethic group and is now a member of CPC, a professor, a Ph.D. and a Ph.D. supervisor. As a power-system automation major, Prof. Jiang graduated from Hohai University in 1988 with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and took the teaching post there after graduation. By the year of 1992, he was admitted into Automation Research Institute of Southeast University for master degree. After that, he began to pursue a doctor’s degree in 1994, one year ahead of schedule. In 1997, he graduated with a Ph.D. degree in the Theory and Application of Automatic Control. Prof. Jiang worked as an instructor in the Department of Electronic Engineering of NUPT in 1997 and moved up to an associate professor in 1999, acting as a master supervisor later the same year. In 2003, Mr. Jiang got a fast-track promotion to a full professorship and later served as Ph.D. supervisor in 2006.
In 1999, Jiang was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of Electronic Engineering of NUPT, Dean of the School of Automation in 2005, Director of the Graduate Division and the Discipline Construction Office in 2007, President and deputy party secretary of Nanjing Institute of Industry Technology in August, 2009, and Vice President and member of the Standing Committee of the party of NUPT in July, 2012.
Professor Jiang is now Deputy Chairman of the Activity Group on Complex Networks and Complex Systems of CSIAM( China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics), vice president of Jiangsu Institute of Communication and Jiangsu Association of Artificial Intelligence, standing director of Jiangsu Institute of Automation, member of the Nonlinear Circuits and Systems Technical Committee of IEEE, Senior Member of IEEE, Guest Editorial Board Member of IJBC, Editorial Board Member of China University Journals of Posts and Telecommunications(English Version), Senior Member of China Communications Association, and Associate Member of Centre for Chaos and Complex Networks of City University of Hong Kong. Honors were heaped upon Professor Jiang in recognition of his scholarly achievements.
